The MFPRM "BEYOND COVID" conference was held in Rome and was the biggest event in the field of rehabilitation of the year.
Efexia participated with the introduction of the bouncer Mr. Stefan Eleftherios: "Transcranial direct current stimulation in combination with robotics for upper extremity for stroke patients in post-acute phase". The presentation dealt with two modern approaches for stroke rehabilitation with non-invasive brain stimulation, such as transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS), and rehabilitation with upper extremity robotic systems.
tDCS enhances the neuroplasticity of the brain but requires external stimuli such as those provided by robotic systems. The combination of these treatments has been shown to provide functional recovery after stroke.
The participation of our visitor in the conference was completed with his presence in the chair of the session on "ENGINEERING AND ROMBOTICS" where he shared the long experience of Euxia in this field.
