10th Panhellenic Congress of Vascular Stroke Diseases

The 10th Panhellenic Congress on Vascular Stroke was held from 10 to 13 November 2022 in Thessaloniki, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.Specialist speakers from Greece and abroad participated in a scientific program that included the most interesting topics and the latest developments in the different stages of vascular stroke management from prevention to rehabilitation.

The Physiatrist of our center, Eleftherios Stefas participated in the round table on the topic of Rehabilitation in Vascular Stroke where he developed the topic "Hemiplegic shoulder and special clinical manifestations".

Hemiplegic shoulder is one of the 4 most common complications after stroke with a reported incidence between 30% and 65%. It is associated with decreased functional use of the upper limb, difficulty in rehabilitation, higher rates of depression and lower quality of life. Treatment requires a multidisciplinary team and at the Wellness Rehabilitation Center our experienced staff is involved with this clinical manifestation from day one of hospitalization.
