The physiatrist of the Euxia Rehabilitation Centre Lefteris Stefas was a guest speaker at the Panhellenic Educational Seminar of the Hellenic Society of Vascular Brain Diseases, which took place from November 1 to 3, 2019 at the Electra Palace Athens Hotel, in Athens.
Hellenic Society of Vascular Stroke Diseases
The seminar was organized by the Hellenic Society of Vascular Stroke Diseases (HSCD), a national member of the World Stroke Organization (WSO) and also a national member of the European Stroke Organization (ESO). In this Panhellenic Seminar the topics focused on the current impressive developments in the treatment of vascular diseases of the brain and spinal cord and was attended by physicians from many collaborating specialties such as neurologists, pathologists, neurosurgeons, vascular surgeons, radiologists - interventional neuroradiologists, cardiologists, haematologists, physicists, etc.
The physiatrist of our center presented the methods of Constrain Induced Movement Therapy and Bilateral Movement Therapy and highlighted their usefulness in rehabilitation programs, while finally he spoke about some new approaches regarding the injection of botulinum toxin (botox) for the treatment of focal spasticity.
